2023 Newtown Sports Camp (ages 6-12)

Our fun-oriented and highly instructional camps create an atmosphere that enables children to learn, grow, make friends, and have a meaningful summer experience. Each day features a full-camp game in the morning, skill instruction in the day’s themed sport, and recreational games and activities. You can sign up for single or multiple weeks!

Camp will be held at Veterans Park except the week of 8/7 where it will be held indoors at Newtown Middle School and will also offer a full day option

Weekly Themes
Sports Camp Kickoff (June 26-30)
Kick off summer with Jump Start Sports with your favorite summer camp games and activities! This includes kickball, dodgeball, capture the flag, tag games, relay races, and more.

All-American Sports (July 10-14)
Come play these traditionally American games the week before Independence Day. Activities include basketball, cornhole, ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, spike ball, whiffle ball, newcomb ball, speedball and much more. There might even be some water games!

Color Wars (July 17-21)
A great “old school” camp concept. Campers are divided into teams (colors) to play a variety of sports and camp games. This fun format enables children and benefit from the positive aspects of competition while working toward a common goal.

Olympics (July 24-28)
The Olympics are coming to Newtown! Children are grouped by age and divided into countries to learn about a wide variety of Olympic sports, including track and field, badminton and more. Campers make a flag to carry at the "Closing Ceremonies" and "Presentation of Medals".

Sticks & Stones (July 31-August 4)
Have some fun with all of your favorite “stick” sports. This includes the oldest American sport, lacrosse, as well as hockey, cricket, noodle games and more. Kids will create a Newtown Kindness Rock (“stone”) to help spread kindness in their community.

Ultimate Warrior (August 7-11)
Looking for a fun fitness challenge? Age-appropriate activities specifically designed to challenge, inspire, and excite. Obstacle courses, relays, tug-of-war, and many other activities designed to teach cooperation and teamwork.

College Days (August 14-18)
Have a blast learning about and playing a wide variety of college sports including football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and more. Campers make a school pennant and t-shirt and wear their school colors to demonstrate their school spirit.

Weather Information
In the event of inclement weather, we will add additional time onto the remaining classes. If we are unable to make up time, we will issue everyone a household credit for the time missed.
