2026 Summer Camp Basic Information

We are pleased to announce the schedule and registration dates for the 2026 summer camps. The individual camp web pages with more detailed information will be available by the end of the day on December 27th.
 
Camp Dates: June 29 – August 7 (Please note: There will be no camp on July 3rd.)
 
Registration Dates for Camp Newtown & Adventure Camp:
  • Newtown Township Residents: January 5th at 6 pm (Camp Newtown) and 7 pm (Adventure Camp).
  • Returning Campers (Non-Residents) : January 7th at 10 am.
  • General Registration (For Everyone) : January 9th at 10 am.
*Returning campers include anyone registered for Camp Newtown, Adventure Camp, Playground Camp, or Camp Beechtree in 2025.
 
Additional Camps:
  • Junior Explorers (half-day, ages 4-8) and the 3-week, Teen Xtreme Camp (ages 13-15) registration will open for everyone on January 6th at 10 am.
Important Registration Information:
  1. Preparation is Key: Before registration opens, please verify your login credentials, camper's current grade, and birth date for accuracy. Contact our office via email or phone prior to the registration date to resolve any issues.
  2. Online Registration is Recommended: Online registration is the quickest method. Due to limited staff, we may not be able to respond to voice mails in a timely manner.
  3. Be Ready: Camp spots filled rapidly in 2025—be prepared to register immediately when your window opens!
  4. No in-person registrations will be accepted on the first day.

A 25% deposit is due at registration. All balances must be paid in full by May 15th. A $150 fee will apply for balances paid between May 16-30. Starting June 1st, unpaid balances will result in the removal of your child from the camp without a refund.

***Please note: If your camper requires special or requested accommodations, we will be in touch within a few weeks. The Parks and Recreation staff will conduct an individualized assessment to determine if our camp staff has the necessary expertise and capabilities. We are unable to provide individualized services to campers (1:1). If it is not possible to accommodate the child due to the nature of their special needs requiring specialized staff and/or other accommodations you will receive a full refund.

What is the camp refund policy?
Summer Camp Refund Policy (applies to Day Camps: Adventure, Newtown, Junior Explorers, Teen Xtreme and JS Sports ONLY)
- Cancellation requests before April 1st, Newtown Township will issue a refund, minus an administrative fee of 10% of your total cost of camp.
- Cancellation requests between April 1st and May 31st, Newtown Township will issue a household credit, minus an administrative fee of 10% of your total cost of camp.
- Cancellation requests after May 31st, Newtown Township will issue a household credit, minus an administrative fee of 25% of your total cost of camp, IF the vacated spot can be filled.
- Cancellation requests after camp begins will be dealt with on a case by case basis but will include an administrative fee of 25% and possible pro-rate of camp.
- No credits or refunds are given when a participant is asked to leave due to inappropriate or unacceptable behavior.
- All requests must be in writing to recreation@newtownpa.gov

What if I can only attend partial weeks of camp?
A lot of campers have to miss time due to vacations, etc. You are more than welcome to still register and send your camper on the days they can make! Unfortunately, we are unable to prorate the cost of camp.

How early can I drop off my camper?
Campers may not be dropped off more than 10 minutes prior to camp (8:50am)
