Financial Literacy and Investing/Entrepreneurship (ages 9-12)

This camp will introduce the fundamentals of financial literacy and the importance of investing in the future. Topics include: how money works, investing money, and the importance of a financial stability. The campers will learn the basics of investing in the stock market.

Each day campers must bring a personal computing device.

Syllabus
  • Introduce fundamentals of investments and banking: stocks, shares, investment return , introduce vocabulary and skills for early financial literacy (wants, needs, checking, savings, investments, mutual fund, individual stock)
  • Introduction of the stock market through simulations, games, and research.
  • “Be" an owner of a company. Build a marketing and business plan to entice investors to share in your vision.
  • Create your logo
  • Create a cost analysis and projection of profits.
  • The goal of the time together is to have fun understanding how we can look at our financial futures and invest/ save our money that we earn or accumulate from gifts!
