T'ai Chi Chih is a gentle, mindful, moving meditation with many health benefits that may be taught seated as well as standing. This particular form is adopted by UCLA for research, demonstrating its effect on increasing immunity, improving sleep quality, and decreasing the symptoms of depression. It is widely accepted that T'ai Chi improves balance and lowers high blood pressure. Because of its effectiveness this moving meditation has recently been written about in The New York Times, AARP National Magazine, and many other publications. The Nature Series is a Free Program Sponsored by TD Bank  Pre-registration is requiredNature Scavenger Hunt (ages 6-12)Discover the wonders of nature through an exploration of the Clark Nature Center. Each family will participate in a scavenger hunt around the grounds of the Clark Nature Center. Participants will learn about the plants, trees, and animal life and use a compass and a magnifying glass to find animal tracks, animal homes, plants, and any other wonders of nature. Participants will be able to make animal prints. Come prepared with the appropriate clothing and footwear.Nature's Heartbeat is Beneath the Waves (ages 6-12)Are you and your family curious about what’s beneath the ocean waves? Come investigate whales and sharks and perform several different experiments such as how an octopus evades their prey and several other activities with your family. Also identify different seashells found beneath the waves. Come spend some time at the beach. The Great Pumpkin (ages 6-12) - REGISTRATION OPENS SUMMER 2025Come and experience the “Great Pumpkin”. Learn about the fruit and the parts of the plants through a pumpkin dissection. Guess the weight of the locally grown pumpkins. Discover how pumpkins can roll and participate in a race. Build a catapult using a pumpkin to launch candy corn.
