Pavilion Rentals


PAVILION REQUEST FORM

Your rental entitles you to use of the pavilion ONLY. Playground facilities and other park amenities remain open to the public.

If I rent a pavilion, is my rental the only group allowed to use the pavilion?
Yes. Your rental gives your group exclusive use of the pavilion during your reserved time. Although you have a permit, please remember that the parks are public facilities, and it is your responsibility to monitor and manage the pavilion during your scheduled rental. Be sure to bring a copy of your permit receipt with you on the day of your event. 

How do I find out if a date is available?
There are a few ways you can find out:
  • You can go to www.NewtownFun.com and hover over “facilities” and click on “calendar”. Once at the calendar, choose your location from the drop down menu and check the month you are looking for
  • You can call the office during business hours: 215-968-2800 ext. 239
  • Email recreation@newtownpa.gov and we will get back to you within 24 business hours
Where are the forms to reserve a pavilion?
Forms are available in PDF online at www.newtownfun.com. Hover over the “general info” tab and clicking on the “dept info” tab. You can print the pavilion rental form from there.

What do I need to finalize a pavilion rental? 
The form must be completed and return via email to recreation@newtownpa.gov or dropped off in person. The applicant must have an account at www.NewtownFun.com to process the permit. Once the permit is able to be processed in the account, payment must be made. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, check (local) or exact cash. Your reservation is NOT completed until payment has been made. 

What is the cost to rent a pavilion?
The fee is $30 per hour for Township residents, $40 per hour for non-residents 

What pavilions/areas can be rented?
  • Robert’s Ridge Park has a pavilion with five picnic tables.
  • Veteran’s Park has a small pavilion with two picnic tables.
  • Clark Nature Center has three picnic tables and no pavilion.
  • Carl Sedia has a small gazebo with a few picnic tables throughout the park, no pavilion.
  • Other – if there is a place that is not listed where you would like to hold something, please contact the parks and recreation department.
Is there a time limit for rentals?
There is no time limit to how long you can rent a pavilion. Rental times start at 9:00am and end at 9:00pm (9:00 pm during the summer months, as park hours are until sunset). Each rental receives a thirty-minute buffer for set up and clean up. This buffer is built in to avoid congestion between rentals.

What happens if it rains the day of my rental?
The first option is to try and re-schedule for a different date, if available.
Please be reminded of the prohibited items within the Newtown Township Park System:
  • No alcohol or glass bottles
  • No smoking, including vaping, etc
  • No open fires, grills, paper lanterns, etc
  • No inflatables
  • No staples or nails in any posts or tables (all decorations must be removed)
  • No large trash boxes may be left (i.e. pizza boxes and large cake boxes must be discarded to the nearest park dumpster by the applicant)
  • No animals (except dogs on a leash)
All park facilities and pavilion areas must be vacated by sunset.
