Come investigate whales and sharks and perform several different experiments such as how an octopus evades their prey and several other activities with your family. Also identify different seashells found beneath the waves. Come spend some time at the beach. Host Plants and Wildlife Discover the deep connection between wildlife and the plants in their ecosystems as we discuss Host Plants and the Wildlife that depend on them. We will explore key pairings, including the Monarch and Common Milkweed, Pennsylvania Firefly and Sedges, and Tiger Swallowtails and Tulip Trees. You’ll even get to make your own biodegradable origami pot and plant a native species to take home — and start building your own mini wildlife habitat!Elderberry Syrup WorkshopIn this interactive class, participants will learn how to make elderberry syrup using raw honey and simple ingredients. The class will cover the documented medicinal properties of elderberries. Important safety considerations will also be discussed, including why elderberry syrup is not recommended for children under age two and why raw honey should not be given to infants under one. Participants will explore natural methods for extending the syrup’s shelf life, such as refrigeration, the addition of alcohol, and proper bottling techniques. Guidance will be provided on how to store and use the syrup effectively at home. Vinyasa is a style of yoga in which the practitioner moves seamlessly from one pose to the next, guided by the breath. Class will begin with a short centering and breathing sequence and meditation, followed by a warm-up sequence and then a series of standing poses, hip openers, backbends, twists and forward folds. The class will conclude with inversions, a cool down and a closing sequence. Modifications will be offered for all poses to accommodate students of all levels and abilities. T'ai Chi Chih is a gentle, mindful, moving meditation with many health benefits that may be taught seated as well as standing. This particular form is adopted by UCLA for research, demonstrating its effect on increasing immunity, improving sleep quality, and decreasing the symptoms of depression. It is widely accepted that T'ai Chi improves balance and lowers high blood pressure. Because of its effectiveness this moving meditation has recently been written about in The New York Times, AARP National Magazine, and many other publications. 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM    Vinyasa Flow Yoga (All-Levels) - Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa is a style of yoga in which the practitioner moves seamlessly from one pose to the next, guided by the breath. Class will begin with a short centering and breathing sequence and meditation, followed by a warm-up sequence and then a series of standing poses, hip openers, backbends, twists and forward folds. The class will conclude with inversions, a cool down and a closing sequence. Modifications will be offered for all poses to accommodate students of all levels and abilities. A yoga practice can reduce stress, and improve balance, flexibility and strength.
